The Team

The Regulatory Behavior Lab is led by Dr. Dovilė Rimkutė (Principal Investigator). 

The Lab aims to build an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment bringing together scholars interested in regulation, public administration, political psychology, and behavioral science.

In the coming four years, we will be working on the NWO Vidi project "Emotion-Infused Risk Regulation: Rethinking the Fundamentals of Regulatory Governance for Citizen-Centric Rulemaking" and related projects. Our goal is to examine the role of emotions in regulatory politics and bureaucracy more broadly, and, hopefully, to shake things up a little.

Together, we bring not only a range of disciplinary perspectives to examine the role of emotions in regulatory governance and politics, but also a diverse set of methods, from experimental designs to ethnographic research, spanning a wide range of regulatory domains.

Dovilė Rimkutė

Principal Investigator

Emma Ropes

(Incoming) Postdoctoral Researcher. Emma is a public administration scholar whose research focuses on emotions in citizen-state interactions and regulatory governance.

Suzanne Blom

PhD Researcher. Suzanne is political psychologists whose research focuses on the role of emotions in regulatory politics.

Hilah Segal-Klein 

MSCA fellowship applicant. Hilah is a sociological and anthropological scholar focusing on the emotional dimensions of livability in citizens' everyday encounters with regulatory policy.

Zhou Je

Research Intern. Ye is a Research Master's student in the Social Sciences for a Digital Society program. Her research interests include disruptive technology, legitimacy, and reputation management.

Elmar van Kelle

Research Intern. Elmar is a Research Master's student in the Social Sciences for a Digital Society program. His research interests include sustainability, regulatory governance, public opinion, political communication, polarization, and the role of social media in society.
